About Michael

Michael is a Florida native of Colombian heritage who was born in Spain, grew up in Miami and now lives in north Florida. He is 20-year veteran actor in local theater with a confident, warm, and sincere voice who has always had a deep love of telling stories. He studied history in college with a focus on Medieval and Classical Europe, and started out his career teaching 20th-century world history. He would love to be considered for any nonfiction history, religion, or historical fiction titles.

On stage, he specializes in comedic roles. He appeared recently as Dennis in The Play That Goes Wrong, the Proprietor in Assassins, and as Emperor Nero, a Texan who hates beer, and others, in the world premiere of the Jones Hope Wooten play Buddy Bro Buddy Dude: Men in Twisted Shorts.

Michael has played tabletop roleplaying games for almost three decades. He loves its cooperative storytelling, as well as the performance aspect of inhabiting the characters, using various accents, including Southern US, English RP, English working class, West Country, Scottish, Spanish, German, and Russian, so keep him in mind for any fantasy or LitRPG books.

He has played and watched soccer for as long as he can remember and thrills in the excitement and drama that sports stories can bring. He plays goalkeeper in a Sunday soccer league and can otherwise be found on the couch, coffee or tea nearby, with a book and at least one cat in his lap (or on the book!) Any nonfiction sports or sports-themed fiction would be right up his alley.

“My books are not easy to narrate, but Michael did a stellar job. He finished the audio clips much faster than I expected and did so with great accuracy. His inflection was exactly as I heard as I wrote it. I am a computer architect who frequently refers to foreign languages in my writings. Michael did his research where he was not familiar with my jargon. I will call on Michael to narrate all of my books.”
